To comply with the IMU requirements:

  1. Determine Cadastral Income: Obtain the cadastral income of your property, which is listed in the property purchase contract or can be acquired through a cadastral survey.
  2. Revaluation: Revalue the cadastral income by 5%.
     

Calculation:

  • Multiply the revalued cadastral income by the relevant coefficient (e.g., 160 for homes and appurtenances).
  • Apply the IMU rate established by the local municipality.
  • For luxury main homes, deduct €200 from the calculated amount.
  • The tax must be paid by the property owners, including those with real rights such as usufruct, use, habitation, and surface rights. 
  • If a property is jointly owned, each owner pays their share proportional to their ownership percentage.
