Who Is This Service For?
If you wish to become resident in Spain, it is now a legal requirement to obtain a TIE (Tarjeta de Identitdad de Extranjero) Card.
A new model was introduced in May 2020 which incorporates a biometric chip in the card, similar to those in modern passports. This should be distinguished from an NIE number which is required to carry-out many types of official procedures such as purchasing or inheriting a property or opening a business in Spain.
Those UK citizens who were resident before 1st January 2021 may apply for this card. An application for a TIE card should also be made for any children also resident.
Applications may be made on your behalf by a legally empowered lawyer. Our lawyers will assist you with understanding the requirements and with helping you to make a successful application.

What Does This Service Consist Of?
- An initial consultation to explain the process
- We will provide you with a list of documents and explanation of the requirements with which you must comply in order to successfully apply for a TIE
- We will make the application for the card on your behalf
- Once the application has reached the stage of attending a personal appointment at the appropriate Police Station, a lawyer will accompany you
- We will continue providing assistance up until the TIE card is issued
